Students in the 六合彩开奖直播 Class of 2022 will have the opportunity next month to celebrate Match Day and gather together as they learn where they will be headed for residency training.
This year鈥檚 event will be held at the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites in downtown Kalamazoo on Friday, March 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The gathering will mark the first time since 2019 that medical school leaders have been able to offer fourth-year students the option to come together in-person for Match Day festivities. In 2020 and 2021, the celebrations were held virtually in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, as part of planning for Match Day, WMed leaders focused on ways to provide options and opportunities for students to celebrate together safely as the pandemic is still ongoing. With that in mind, students will have the option to take part in the Match Day Celebration at the Radisson or virtually.
For the in-person celebration, students are being given tickets for two guests. Face masks will also be required, social distancing encouraged, and attendees will self-attest that they are vaccinated and COVID-19 symptom-free. The WMed community 鈥 faculty, staff, residents, and first-, second-, and third-year students 鈥 is invited to tune into the festivities via the and Facebook Live. Links to the speeches and Match Day Envelope video will also be shared via email. Following Match Day, the Match Day map will be in the W.E. Upjohn M.D. Campus caf茅.
鈥淥ur ultimate goal is to have safe celebration,鈥 said Jean Shelton, assistant dean for Admissions and Student Life. 鈥淥ur students have worked and dreamed about this day and we cannot wait to share in their joy and celebrate the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication that it took to get to this moment.鈥
Match Day is a time-honored event that is held every March at medical schools across the country. The celebration is a culmination for WMed鈥檚 fourth-year students as the course of their medical careers will be determined with the opening of an envelope and they learn where they will spend the next three or more years in residency training.
Students and their guests at the event on March 18 will be able to partake in light packaged snacks and they will get the chance to see video remarks from WMed Dean Paula M. Just before it鈥檚 time to open their Match Day envelopes at noon, they鈥檒l also get to see this year鈥檚 Match Day envelope video.
There will be plenty of opportunities for students and their guests to capture photos at the Radisson with WMed backdrops and the Match Day pin map. Students will also be able to take the stage to share their Match results with guests at the event, as well as on Facebook Live.
